This is my story on how I boosted my sales and how one product is helping me corner my market- the morning rush. Since starting my catering company, my breakfast menu has been my saving grace. The majority of my customers come in during daily operations of the store usually between 6:30-11:00, and most of them are eating on the run. Pancakes are one of the best selling items off my catering menu, but the truth is that making a stack of pancakes is tedious and really not efficient to make as a menu item for people who are in a rush.  So around early summer 2009, a friend came to me and asked if I would try a new product, he said it was a home run for my business and described it as futuristic. His explanation about the automatic pancake maker called Popcake©, was all I needed to hear in order to jumped at the opportunity.

My Popcake© machine was delivered a couple of weeks later, and I got right to work.  Set-up of the Popcake© was simple enough, and the instructions were easy to use and that was a big plus for me.  After getting the set-up squared away, I began to read through the recipes they provided for me, and honestly, I was really surprised by their originality, and the different kind of breakfast and dessert recipes they provided. I knew that many of my “a.m. customers” would love the change in their routine breakfast ritual.

Knowing this could be a huge hit for the morning rush, I tested it at a small catering function to observe the response. I took the Popcake© machine to an off-site location breakfast event that usually seats about 150 people for some of their morning functions. The efficiency of time and taste were critical regarding the Popcake© on this job, since there were a lot of hungry people counting on a delicious breakfast.  So I made a traditional recipe, and was done preparing all of my pancakes in under two hours, with little supervision of the process.  I was worried I would get complaints from people that would know I had changed the process, but contrarily in fact, people were delighted with the Popcake©.

So in the end, the Popcake saved me time and I received only compliments on taste, so I would have to say that the Popcake has passed in all categories.  The machine is really not too heavy around fifty pounds, but compared to most things in my kitchen it mind as well be a feather! So in my final thought, I would suggest to anyone in the catering business or owns a breakfast stand, or coffee shop that Popcake is a must, and utilize the time you’ll be saving on the really important things in life.

I am always skeptical about trying something new in the kitchen. To call me set in my ways is an understatement, so trying the Popcake© was a difficult proposal for me to undertake. Considering that I still use a wine bottle to roll my dough should signify my lack of technological prowess, but I was in for a huge surprise when trying the Popcake automatic pancake machine. Not only was the machine easy to use, but the results were spectacular. The numerous menu options they provide are noir and modern all in one, with specialty dishes that will become a staple of delicious diversity to any breakfast or dessert menu. The first time I used Popcake’s recipe simply titled “Double Cream and Chocolate Chip Tower,” I thought my nephews were going to move into my restaurant permanently.

Realizing the benefit of such an accessible; simple to use product, I began thinking about people who would benefit from it, and I immediately contacted a friend of mine in the catering industry. It didn’t take much prying, and she almost instantly agreed to give the Popcake a try. After giving her a few weeks to try it out, I came home to check my messages and was not surprised to hear her ranting about her new breakfast savior. She went on to say that the Popcake made for a more efficient breakfast service, also stating to me the compliments she received on the creative dishes.

As a person who rarely likes to rock the boat, I would have to say that the Popcake is a culinary oddity, creative in theory and surprising in execution.
